The ruins of “The Guzmanes’ Castle” are located in the upper part of the town. Local history assures that king Gundemaro upgraded the category of the edification as early as in the VIIth Century, conceding it the title of “manorial house”.
Suitable to practice rock climbing thanks to the characteristic features of the surrounding mountains, the town also offers a unique opportunity to detach from the world when exploring the numerous trails linking neighbouring towns and their surrounding moors. It offers a one time chance to enjoy its pleasing landscapes and the tranquillity of a truly lovely town.
Thanks to Aviados’ special surroundings, it is possible to witness the very particular breeding of “gallos de pluma”, used for fishing activities.
The town celebrates its traditional festivity, Saint Michael (San Miguel), the 29th September; though the celebration of “la borregada” is also important, taking place the last weekend of August.
